 | Seminole
State College Scholarships
- designated for women
in the "New Directions Displaced Homemaker's" program who have completed one semester in the
program and maintain a high grade point average. The program has an
enrollment of approximately 200 students, mostly women, returning to
school after years of being homemakers. These women all have
different situations in their lives where they need an educational degree
to secure a job in the workforce that will support themselves and their
families. Most students in this program receive financial assistance
for their tuition but often need additional funds to purchase books,
computers, pay rent, utilities, medical bills, etc. HWC has provided
need-based scholarships in the past to help with these needs. Each
year the Charitable Endeavors Scholarship Sub-Committee reviews
applications submitted by New Directions students that meet certain
specified criteria for eligibility and awards scholarships based on those
reviews in May.

baked cookies. Here are some pictures of the event.
