bulletSeminole State College Scholarships - designated for women in the "New Directions Displaced Homemaker's" program who have completed one semester in the program and maintain a high grade point average.  The program has an enrollment of approximately 200 students, mostly women, returning to school after years of being homemakers.  These women all have different situations in their lives where they need an educational degree to secure a job in the workforce that will support themselves and their families.  Most students in this program receive financial assistance for their tuition but often need additional funds to purchase books, computers, pay rent, utilities, medical bills, etc.  HWC has provided need-based scholarships in the past to help with these needs.  Each year the Charitable Endeavors Scholarship Sub-Committee reviews applications submitted by New Directions students that meet certain specified criteria for eligibility and awards scholarships based on those reviews in May.  more info..

bulletSafehouse of Seminole Day Care /  After School Care Program.  Safehouse is in the process of setting up a new Licensed Day Care / After School Program for children living with their mothers at the facility.  more info..

On November 17th some of the ladies of the Club went to the Boys and Girls Club in Sanford and helped a group of the children make cookies.  The kids enjoyed rolling the dough, using the cookie cutters and then decorating the baked cookies.  Here are some pictures of the event.

On December 8th, some of the members and spouses attended the Holiday Open House at Friends of Abused Children.  Here are some pictures of this event.
